Snow Zone

I have 23 pictures that I want to share which sounds like a lot. I will divide them up into categories.

Human Category

Cross-country skiing and having an ice fight with ski poles.

Rose acquired a parakeet for Christmas. It is named Autumn and it is on the left in the picture below.

The snow glittered and sparkled marvelously. My face stung with the cold. The 7 ft. drifts loomed up where a fire had ravaged the area. We had headed out to go ice skating but the snow acted like an insulator, covering the slushy water.

Adventure Wilderness

 By Avonlea

I had a lovely Christmas break and I hope you did too. I did manage to read a couple of the books I wanted to read but I was busy getting in twenty hours of physical exercise for school. Which I had no problem doing seeing as how we went to La Pine, Oregon with an ATV and than to Parkdale for a refreshing four days. On the way back from Parkdale, we hit a part blizzard, part nightmare and Dad had to put the chains on and off, four separate times.

We finally got to Parkdale though, completing the trip in 7 hours instead of 2 and a half hours.

We went ice skating on a pond/lake 10 minutes from our cottage. It was superb up there but unfortunately I got no pictures. I did take pictures of our meager ice on our creek though!

There were a lot of tracks in the sparkling snow....... and birds at the birdfeeder!

It's Been a While

This blog has been neglected too long. It is time to start tapping in words that will create a "picture". By the way, my name is Avonlea and I am the oldest of Mom and Dad's four children. I am fourteen and have a passion for animals and music. I also love taking pictures and I will hopefully overwhelm you with pictures of cats, snow, birds, and more! Enjoy.........

Grant's Photos

Grant's assignment on Thursday was to take 10 pictures. The idea was for him to take pictures of the reasons he loves being at home and home-schooled. He will write his reasons under the pictures.
I like playing with my sister at home. I like listening to her music.
I like tackling my cat. He's fun to play with.

I like catching food for my frogs and I like to play with them. I catch flies, crickets, spiders, and soldier bugs.

I like to feed my big frog crickets and watch him eat them. He's fun to hold.

I play with my dog lots. We have races. Her name is Winnie-the-Pooch.

This is Tim and Monk. Tim is the dog and Monk is the monkey (it's really curious George). I like throwing them.

This is Guinevere, my cat. I like to play with her, she's very nice.

This is my very nice mommy, I love her very much. This is little Rosy. It is fun to kiss them.

This is my brother Rowan. I really like to play with him. I like to throw stuffed animals at him and I tackle him.

This is Tim again. He is my favorite stuffed animal. I had a no platelets and Nancy Jackson gave him to me and when they looked at my platelets again I had just the right amount.
